Department of Foreign Languages was established in 1998. It commenced its activities with the ESP in computer Science. The Department of Foreign Languages provides more than 10 languages courses in addition to “ESP”. It currently offers “Teacher Training”, and “Exam Preparation” Courses as well.
TIT Department of Foreign Languages is also the first authorized ETS center to administrate TOEFL series, and is currently the only center to administer TOEFL Junior & Primary.
The core of the offerings and services consists of a full range of credit-bearing English Courses for “EGP” and “ESP”. Meanwhile, it offers a range of international comprehensive programs of ESL/EFL teacher education courses for prospective and current graduate student instructors (GSIs), undergraduates and all those interested in teaching English in local communities or abroad, which are all licensed by LTTC. “Diploma in TESOL” and “Certificate in TEYLT” are among the courses.
This Department supports the teaching and learning of languages throughout the TIT branches and centers countrywide. It does the aforementioned services flexibly in accordance with the needs of Iranian students. It provides a range of courses in more than ten languages for students and learners of different ages, in addition to offering teaching to specific faculties, organizations and companies.
This department is committed to offering & spreading language courses for learners of all ages, producing & publishing learning materials, administering international exams, running teacher training courses and workshops, offering language courses to organizations, faculties, and companies of both the private and governmental sectors. The Department is devoted to base all our services and activities on modern standards of the day and follow the needs of society.
To achieve its mission, the Department of Foreign Languages aims to promote language learning and access to language study to learners in schools, colleges, organizations or companies. The Department of Foreign Languages ensures access to outstanding language teaching and support for language learning for all learners, provide and support the lowest and highest levels of language proficiency, prepare learners and applicants for accredited national and international exams. exploit the latest technologies and pedagogies to develop language teaching and learning materials for use across all centers and branches, foster learner autonomy in language learners, whether studying independently and/or attending courses within the TIT, provide professional advisory services to support individual language learners and high quality learning resources in multiple media, both physical and virtual, in a wide range of languages, collaborate and share expertise with international language learning colleges and universities, administer courses with international diploma and accredited international exams.
